The Transformation
Before
AfterThis swimming pool in Toorak was in desperate need of retiling. It was empty for almost a decade, cracked and had exposed surface tiles falling off.
Toorak Project: Tiling Renovation
As you can see, our photos are real… Sometimes, we can’t get the best photos, but we won’t pay a professional photographer. We do our own photos, we use a drone, we use our phones and we do the best we can. A good job doesn’t need to be photoshopped and have lighting tricks. We give you raw - unedited photos - they may not be the nicest photos to look at, but the job… what you are judging us over, is second to none.
Toorak Pool Project
Abandoned swimming pool
Leaving pools abandoned creates more expensive renovations for customers, leaving them to dry creates movements, accelerates loss of the pool surface and adds to the likelihood of cracks getting bigger.
Loose Pool Coping
Roots grow outward sometimes reach the pool searching for water, they travel under the coping and get bigger, causing the coping / pavers to lift.
Tiles coming off
pool tiles are usually very sturdy and a job well done won’t lose tiles. Exposing tiles to the elements is the worst thing that can be done.
Filling a pool.
This renovated swimming pool took nearly four full days to fill, when we went to check on the last day it was almost but not quite there…
Ambition
We always try our best and we do every pool with the same love as if they belonged to us, some days they do in spirit belong to us… on this day our efforts to be the number Renovator in Victoria may have paid off, as the clouds let through some light, the number 1 shined on the pool floor.
Night time special
We had to return and see this pool at night, since the owners didn’t live there we were left with the daunting task of returning to turn off the water tap before it overfilled, so we snapped some photos.
Tiling of Mosaic Pool Tiles
We like hsowing our jobs up close, it allows you to see the details in our work, inlike some who will only ever show photos from a distance or after it is full of water…
Deep end
We like to show-off our tiling skills, these details are done by very few pool tilers.
Fully tiled swimming pool
Nothing beats a fully tiled swimming pool.
Toorak at Night.
We had to return once the pool was full of water, which happened to be at almost 9pm, we turned on our night flood light and the pool looked amazing.
Above and beyond the pool renovation - Toorak.
Swimming pool was done with a Bluestone coping & Druid grey pool tiles by the pool tile company.
This swimming pool in Toorak had been left abandoned for years. Cracks had begun to spread, tiles were falling off, and the old coping stones were lifting from root growth underneath. Like many neglected swimming pools, the longer it sat empty, the more damage occurred — movement in the concrete shell, surface loss, and worsening cracks that eventually made the pool unsafe to use.
The owners initially tried smaller repairs, but nothing could fix the underlying problems. In the end, it was clear the pool needed a full renovation. Our pool tilers in Toorak began by stripping away all the old tiles, repairing structural cracks, and injecting polyurethane filler into the damaged areas. We then waterproofed the entire pool shell, ensuring a solid foundation before carefully installing new mosaic pool tiles throughout the interior.
The results speak for themselves. The deep end now shows off precision tiling work that only a handful of tilers in Victoria can achieve, while the spa area was fully transformed with a stunning Druid Grey mosaic finish. Every edge and detail was completed to the same high standard we would expect in our own homes.
Because the clients didn’t live at the property, they entrusted us to also manage the filling process. With a pool of this size, it took nearly four full days for the water level to rise — each morning the pool crept higher: from the steps, to halfway, and eventually just below the skimmer.
Late on a Sunday evening, under floodlights, we returned to shut off the tap and capture the moment when the pool was finally ready to be enjoyed again.
Today, the property features a fully tiled swimming pool in Toorak that not only looks immaculate but will last for decades. This project is a reminder of why we go above and beyond on every job — because swimming pools like this deserve nothing less.
